Dr Sinka along with our collaborators from Tanzania and DRC have demonstrated for the first time in a rural community in Tanzania, that our HumBug Net allows us to passively record the flight tone of host seeking mosquitoes!

Our Social Science team conducted community meetings in four villages of Kilombero valley. Dr Dam, Mrs Mponzi and Mrs Mwandyala met the community leaders and held focus group discussions to introduce the project to the participants.

Dr Marianne Sinka and colleagues combine current distribution of An. stephensi with spatial models that identify the species' preferred habitat to predict its potential spread in Africa.

We are very happy to announce that we received a best paper award at the Machine Learning for the Developing World workshop at NeurIPS 2019, as well as a publication at the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) 2020.

In January, researchers from the University of Oxford (UK) and Kinshasa School of Public Health (DRC) visited our collaborators at the Ifakara Health Institute (Tanzania) to start collecting and recording mosquitoes.
